Kenny Fong established Darkside in 1989. It originally started off as a tint shop. This is where the name Darkside came from. With Kenny doing all his own work he slowly worked his way up from building to building expanding each time and making a name for himself and his company along the way. Now some 19 years later Darkside is a major player in the after-market automotive industry. With some big builds under Darkside over the years we have become the go to guys for some of the big names in the automotive, entertainment and sports industries. We are not just in the import scene anymore where Kenny started off originally. In the last few years we have been known for our work in the European and also the truck and SUV market.

At Darkside Motoring Inc. we see the future of the automotive business growing even bigger then it already is. We strive to be on the forefront of the market. We are constantly reading, learning and understanding new ways and new ideas in order to stay ahead of not only the ever growing competition from both retail stores and internet based sales, but just to be up to date on what our customer(s) needs and wants are. We see ourselves working on some interesting and adventures projects and build’s making our name and reputation even bigger and wider spread then it already is.

Bio on Kenny Fong

Kenny started in the automotive field back in 1988. He was still in high school and was working as an apprentice for window tinting automobiles. It seemed to be pretty popular during this time with all his friends. He soon realized that he could make some good money and needed to go into business for himself. After putting some thought and planning into it he started Darkside. Kenny was still working out of his garage at this time and had just got out of high school. While running Darkside out of his garage he still worked a full time job selling covers for motor homes and trailers. Soon his boss noticed Kenny had a following of customers asking him about after-market products and window tinting.

He came to Kenny and offered him a spot in the front of the building rent free to run Darkside in return for a percentage of the sales. This was a great opportunity for Kenny to make Darkside a legitimate business with a store front counter and everything. Darkside grew into what it is today and twenty two years later has full time sales servicing both retail and wholesale clients, a full time website with online sales and a successful apparel line that is very popular both locally and worldwide specially in the Japanese and Overseas markets.

Darkside has been featured in and has done technical articles for over 20+ magazines over the years in both national and international publications. We have also been filmed for national and international TV shows and movies. Some of the more popular of the TV shows that Darkside was featured on was Rides a TV show on the Discovery network. The first show was a build with Jack Osbourne and the second build was a HHR project for General Motors. The others shows we’ve had appearances on was MTV Cribs with Carey Hart, Third Season of The Newlyweds with Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson customizing Nicks Lincoln Navigator and Jessica Range Rover for her 25th birthday, Second Season of LA Ink customizing Kat Von D Cadillac CTS, and Living with Ed with Ed Bagley Jr. presenting a customized Phoenix Motor Car first Electric 4 door SUT. Our newest build was on Hotrod TV for the Speed TV Channel. We did a full restoration on a 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback for Brian Austin Green. We have also had feature vehicles built and displayed at SEMA, CES and Off Road Expo shows. Darkside has also worked directly with some of the big auto makers like GM, Honda and Ford to name a few. We were also a featured builder at the GM All Car Showdown with Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal as the host 3 years in a row showing off some of our client’s rides with Adrien Brody’s corvette and our customized Chevy HHR that was on display at the event. Another build was for General Motors where we custom built a GMC Denali to be debuted at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show which was also shown at a charity event that GM sponsored where the truck was given to Shawn "Jay Z" Carter.
